Samoa’s Prime Minister Welcomes UK Trade Guests

Hi, it’s Zita again!

Last night (May 20th), I and my wonderful team at Polynesian Xplorer threw a cocktail party to welcome a visiting delegation of agents and wholesalers from the UK. It was great to welcome Samantha Morrison from Travel 2, Katie Low from Kuoni, Louise Dean from Jetset, Francesca de la Cruz and Katie Warburton from AusTravel (TUI) and to see Alyson Cryer from Representation Plus again.

We had to admire their stamina as they had arrived early the same morning after an unbroken journey of 33 hours from London to Abu Dhabi, to Sydney, then Apia. They had only spent half a day in Apia but the warmth, sunshine and friendliness of Samoans, combined with glimpses of stunning scenery,  had already brought smiles to their faces and they were delighted to meet some of our key suppliers from Aggie Grey’s Hotel, Tanoa Tusitala, the Orator Hotel, and Coconut’s Beach Resort as well as Stephen Rogers, the Honorary Consul of Great Britain, John Stanley, the resident  EU Representative.

The highlight of the evening was the arrival of the Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi, who broke his busy schedule to personally welcome our guests to Samoa and respond to their questions. As pictures tell a thousand words, let the following express the fun and conviviality enjoyed by all and we wish our guests a very productive visit and hope they return soon.
